L3Harris Technologies has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between its SAMI-L3Harris Joint Venture (JV) and Zamil Shipyards, a leading maritime company based in Saudi Arabia.
L3Harris established a joint venture (JV) with Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) in 2021. Through this JV, known as SAMI L3Harris, we have jointly established a production line for software-defined radios in the Kingdom. This localized production line has already delivered several thousand radios to the Saudi Ministry of Defense that are providing resilient communications for Saudi forces. In addition to localized manufacturing, we’re also engaged with SAMI in waveform development and other engineering activities in our laboratory in Riyadh. Our partnership with SAMI also includes a WESCAM Authorized Service Center in Saudi Arabia that provides maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for multi-sensor, multi-spectral, electro-optic and infrared (EO/IR) surveillance and targeting systems that support intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and target acquisition missions from platforms across the air, land and maritime domains. Saudi Arabia is one of only 10 countries to host a WESCAM Authorized Service Center.
